En las próximas semanas se volverá a cambiar la hora, dando termino al horario de verano, para pasar al nuevo horario de invierno, el cual comenzará a regir el primer sábado de abril a las 00:00 horas.
Hasta el año 2018 y, según el Decreto Supremo 253 de 2016, se establecía que el horario de invierno tenía una duración de tres meses, entre el segundo sábado de mayo y segundo sábado de agosto, mientras que el resto del año era horario de verano (cinco meses de invierno y siete de verano).
Sin embargo, un decreto hecho en 2018 modificó la ley en la materia fijando nuevas fechas para la modificación de relojes en el territorio nacional.
La ley 8.777 estableció que el nuevo cambio horario (de invierno) empezara en Chile Continental a contar del primer sábado del mes de abril de 2021 y que se extendiera hasta las 00:00 horas del primer sábado del mes de septiembre 2021, donde los relojes se atrasarán en 60 minutos.
Se aproxima el cambio de hora en Chile. Luego de que en septiembre de 2020 se iniciará el actual horario, conocido como el horario de verano, en las próximas semanas habrá que dar paso al horario de invierno 2021.
Todos cambian, excepto Magallanes: Para la Región de Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena este cambio de horario no los involucrará, puesto que, al menos hasta el año 2022, se decretó que dicha área mantenga de forma permanente el ‘horario de verano.
Así, el cambio al horario de invierno deberá realizarse el sábado 3 de abril de 2021.
